Heat and mass transfer processes are essential in modern science, engineering, industrial operations, biomedical systems, energy technology, and environmental applications. Recent advancements in mathematical modeling, computational methods, and high-performance numerical simulations have greatly enhanced the comprehension of complex transport mechanisms in fluids, porous media, multiphase systems, nanofluids, and reactive flows.

This special session seeks to gather investigators, academicians, scientists, and industry specialists involved in analytical modeling, computational fluid dynamics, numerical analysis, and transport phenomena. The session will provide as a forum for discussing new advancements in mathematical formulations, efficient numerical methods, stability and convergence analysis, multi-physics coupling, and practical engineering applications relevant to heat and mass transfer processes.

Contributions involving mathematical modeling, theoretical analysis, numerical methodologies, simulation-based studies, experimental studies, and interdisciplinary applications are highly encouraged.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a powerful tool for analyzing fluid flow, heat transfer, and transport phenomena through mathematical modeling and numerical simulation. It has become indispensable in engineering, environmental science, energy systems, aerospace, and biomedical applications. Recent advances in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and multiphysics modeling have significantly expanded the capabilities and impact of CFD. This symposium aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss recent developments in CFD theory, numerical methods, simulation techniques, and their diverse real-world applications while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

 Symposium 3: Design of Experiments and Response Surface Methodology for Computational Modeling, Process Innovation and Sustainable Technologies

Design of Experiments (DoE) and Response Surface Methodology (RSM) have become indispensable statistical and computational tools for scientific investigation, process optimization, product development, and decision-making across diverse engineering and applied science disciplines. Modern research often involves multiple interacting variables, nonlinear responses, experimental uncertainty, and resource constraints, making conventional one-factor-at-a-time experimentation inefficient and incapable of revealing interaction effects. DoE provides a systematic framework for planning experiments that maximize information while minimizing the number of experimental trials, whereas RSM enables mathematical modeling, visualization, optimization, and prediction of complex processes.

The integration of DoE-RSM with computational modeling, machine learning, digital twins, artificial intelligence, finite element simulations, computational fluid dynamics, process systems engineering, and data analytics has significantly expanded its scope in both academic research and industrial applications. The methodology is increasingly adopted in mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, electronics, energy, petroleum, environmental, materials, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, healthcare, and management sciences for process improvement, quality enhancement, sustainable manufacturing, resource optimization, reliability analysis, and intelligent product design.

This symposium aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students to present recent advances, innovative methodologies, practical applications, and emerging trends in DoE-RSM. Contributions addressing theoretical developments, computational techniques, industrial case studies, software applications, hybrid optimization approaches, uncertainty analysis, and sustainable engineering solutions are particularly encouraged. The symposium seeks to foster collaborations among statisticians, mathematicians, engineers, scientists, and practitioners while promoting wider adoption of DoE-RSM as a powerful framework for scientific discovery, computational modeling, and sustainable technological innovation.
